A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
